About this market
Once a year, Semaphore Road closes to traffic and becomes a seaside street fair. The Ray White Semaphore Street Fair is run by the Semaphore Mainstreet Association with support from the City of Port Adelaide Enfield and local businesses, and it draws around 50,000 visitors in a single day. More than 350 stalls fill the stretch from the foreshore past the heritage shopfronts. They are grouped into precincts such as the West End, Central, Odeon Star and East End markets, plus a Kids Corner. Stallholders are selected with a focus on South Australian handmade, handcrafted and locally sourced goods, with good-quality vintage and upcycled pieces in the mix. Falling in late November, it is a popular spot for early Christmas shopping, and the day also brings al fresco food, pop-up bars, amusement rides, vintage steam engines, a main stage and roving entertainers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the fair go ahead in bad weather?
Yes. It is an uncovered street fair that runs in all weather, including wet and windy days, and is not cancelled because of the weather.
Which roads are closed and how should I get there?
Semaphore Road is closed from the Esplanade to Swan Terrace, along with several side streets, from 6.30am to 6.30pm. Detours run via Swan Terrace/Woolnough Road and Hart Street, Hall Street and South Terrace. Public transport via Adelaide Metro is recommended.
Is there a map of the stalls?
Yes. The official website has an event map showing the market precincts, stallholder lists, the main stage and toilets.
Can I still apply for a stall?
Applications for 2026 are open, but all sites are currently full, so new stallholders, displays and food vendors join a wait list. Marquees and $10M public liability insurance are compulsory. Standard sites start at $160 for 3m x 3m.
