What it was
Running since the late 1990s, Night Noodle Markets grew out of Good Food Month, the annual program from The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age (Nine). Each city got a multi-night outdoor festival: lanterns, wok smoke, dumpling queues, dragon dancers in Brisbane, live music, and dozens of street-food vendors. You paid stall-by-stall; entry was usually free.

Why it is not on now
Hyde Park venue limits in Sydney, COVID cancellations, and a shift to year-round Good Food Events wound back the old multi-city format. If a listing promises Night Noodle Markets 2025 or 2026 without a source from Nine, treat it as outdated.
