About this market

The Melbourne Book Market brings together some of the city's most experienced booksellers, alongside authors, illustrators and book creators, to offer a curated collection of more than 5,000 new and pre-loved titles. The booksellers traded together at the Federation Square Book Market for many years before forming a registered association in 2018. They have since run the market at venues including Abbotsford Convent, and now trade in the undercover A Shed at Queen Victoria Market. Twelve founding members and a changing mix of casual traders mean the shelves shift from weekend to weekend. Browse literature, history, gardening, travel, cooking, art, Indigenous and children's books, plus stationery, second-hand vinyl, CDs and DVDs. It is a proudly bookish celebration of reading in Melbourne, a UNESCO City of Literature.
