About this market

Volunteers from the not-for-profit Hunter Arts Network have run the Art Bazaar since 2002. It is a high-quality artisan market where every stallholder is a creative maker from the Hunter region, selected by the network for unique, handmade and original work. Since 2025 it has been held regularly in leafy Lambton Park, with a twice-yearly indoor edition at St Therese's Primary School in New Lambton. The bazaar draws loyal followers from Newcastle, Maitland, Lake Macquarie and beyond, who come to find gifts and treats and to meet the local artists they are supporting. The Latin Velvet duo plays live while you browse. Face painting keeps kids busy, and a Rotary Club of Wallsend-Maryland sausage sizzle anchors a relaxed community feel. The organisers describe it as a friendly alternative for anyone who finds a gallery intimidating.
