About this market

On the fourth Saturday of each month, local growers, producers and artisans transform Bruce Jones Market Grounds in historic Yungaburra into one of Far North Queensland's largest community markets. With up to 260 stalls featuring fresh produce, handmade crafts, food vendors, bric-a-brac, clothing and second-hand goods, this Atherton Tablelands icon offers something for everyone. Established in 1977 and proudly run by the Yungaburra State School Parents and Citizens Association, the market champions buying local and supporting small business. The scenic tablelands location often enjoys clearer weather than the coast, making it perfect for a weekend visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the markets cancelled if it's raining?

The markets will only be cancelled if a Cyclone Warning (not watch) is declared for the Atherton Tablelands region.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are permitted but not encouraged. They must be on a short lead and comply with Council by-laws. Dog poo bags are available on-site. Please be respectful as not all people are comfortable with dogs.

Is there an ATM at the markets?

No ATM on-site. We strongly recommend bringing cash as internet can be patchy affecting digital payments. ATMs available at Foodworks Yungaburra and Pittstop garage nearby.

What are the parking options?

Free street parking available - please be aware of resident driveways. Paid parking at nearby Maud Kehoe Park for a small donation to the Yungaburra Lionesses.
