Run by the Rotary Club of Sutherland, the Shire Vintage and Collectables Fair is an annual one-day event held inside the Sutherland Basketball Stadium over the King's Birthday Long Weekend. With more than 60 tables spread across the venue, it draws an eclectic mix of dealers and passionate collectors offering everything from ceramics, china, glass and silverware to vintage fashion, costume jewellery, antique maps, militaria, anime collectables, teddy bears and old board games. The indoor setting makes it a comfortable browse any time of year, and the event has a genuine community atmosphere - supported by local groups including the Sutherland Historical Society, Meccano Modellers, and the Cubby House Turners and Woodies from Oyster Bay Woodturners. A professional valuer is on hand throughout the day to appraise items you bring along (by $5 donation), and all proceeds go directly to local Shire projects supported by Sutherland Rotary. Sutherland station is walkable, and there is ample free parking on site.
