Tucked into a former junkyard in the back streets of Fitzroy, The Rose St. Artists' Market has been a weekend institution since 2003 - one of Melbourne's most-loved spots to shop directly from the people who made what you're holding. Up to 120 artists and designers fill the undercover courtyard each Saturday and Sunday, bringing with them an eclectic mix of original jewellery, ceramics, fashion, paintings, homewares and objects you simply won't find anywhere else. The market was inspired by artist-led projects in London, Berlin and New York's DUMBO Collective, and that spirit of creative independence still runs through everything here - stallholders are selected by a panel that includes practicing artists, keeping quality and originality genuinely high. With over 3,000 makers listed across its catalogue to date, Rose Street has earned its reputation as one of Melbourne's hidden treasures: a place to browse, commission, collect and connect with the artists themselves.

Is the market open if it rains?
Yes - all stalls are undercover so the market runs rain, hail or shine.
How much does a stall cost?
Stall fees are $89 inc. GST per day. Payment is required upfront when you apply. Outdoor stalls are approximately 3x3m; indoor stalls approximately 2x2m. Shelter and either a trestle table or display cubes are provided.
What if the date I want is sold out?
Select 'waiting list' when applying. There is no cost to join and the team will contact you if a space opens up.
Can I attend on both Saturday and Sunday?
Yes - stallholders can book across a full weekend and leave their displays overnight for easier setup the following day.
How do I get there by tram?
From the city, take tram 96 from Bourke Street (alight stop 14) or tram 11 from Collins Street (alight stop 17).
