The Poppet Head Plaza Rotary Markets bring Charters Towers together on the second Friday evening of each month, transforming the open plaza at Goldtower Central into a buzzing community night out. Run in partnership with the Rotary Club of Charters Towers, the markets launched in 2025 and quickly became a local favourite - stalls pack out with handmade gifts, candles, soaps, arts, plants, boutique goods and homewares, while food trucks and vans keep the crowd fed and the energy high. Families wander through under the stars, live music sets the Friday night mood, and a portion of proceeds supports Rotary community projects. With stall fees starting at just $25 for a single site, it is also an accessible launching pad for small businesses and makers looking to connect with locals and visitors passing through this historic gold-mining town.
