About this market

The Nungarin Wheatbelt Markets are a community institution along the Wheatbelt Way, running monthly from March through December in the heart of this small regional town. Between 35 and 45 stalls spread through the heritage Nungarin Town Hall, the mall connecting the Town Hall and Shire offices, and along the full length of the main street - giving the whole town a lively, festive feel for a morning. It is a proper old-fashioned country market with a warm volunteer spirit: stall holders get a breakfast order taken at their stall from 7:30 am, and a free cup of tea or coffee delivered by trolley at around 8:30 am. Beyond shopping, visitors can grab a bacon and egg roll from the Sausage Sizzle, enjoy morning tea in the hall, duck into Wheatbelt Rural for real coffee and a homemade sausage roll, or head to the Woolshed Hotel from 11:00 am for a pub lunch. On market days, the Nungarin Heritage and Army Museum opens its doors from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, and the heritage-listed Mangowine Homestead - 14 kilometres away - is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, making it a natural day trip anchor for visitors to the region.
