About this market
New Norfolk Market fills High Street in one of the Derwent Valley's most historic towns, turning the main street into a weekly community gathering place. It grew out of a council trial of a temporary street mall in September 2017 and has since become a valued local tradition, with stalls showcasing the region. It has a loyal following of around 12,000 Facebook followers, which is a strong showing for a town this size. Locals and day-trippers heading up the valley from Hobart make it a regular Saturday stop.

Jessica Cosgrove has operated the market since 2018. Her council licence expires in November 2026. From then, the Derwent Valley and Central Highlands Tourism Association holds the 2026/27 licence to run events on High Street.
