Meadows Country Market

Tucked into the country village of Meadows, this monthly market has become a staple of the southern Adelaide Hills, drawing locals and day-trippers for its relaxed country atmosphere and friendly hospitality. Stalls spill through the rooms of the historic Meadows Memorial Hall and out into the car park, mixing local produce, jams, chutneys and homemade foods with crafts, felting and alpaca yarn, handmade jewellery, plants, tools, books, toys, antiques and collectables. It is the kind of market where you might leave with a jar of sauce, a secondhand treasure and a potted plant in the same trip. The cafe area is a highlight, with fresh coffee, scones and light lunches plus plenty of seating, and proceeds support the upkeep of the hall. Running continuously since around 2004, it carries on a local market tradition that stretches back to the Lions club in the 1990s.
