About this market

Each festive season the Rockhampton Heritage Village becomes the setting for one of the largest market events in the Rockhampton Region. This twilight market has a nostalgic, family-friendly feel, with local food, live music and more than 160 stalls spread across the historic village grounds. The focus is on handmade, locally crafted and quality products from stallholders across Central Queensland, including home-baked goods, candles, jewellery, leatherwork, woodwork, clothing, children's games, mini figurines and models. Early arrivals can ride the village's vintage vehicles while there is still daylight. The market is part of the Christmas Starts Here Event Trail and is run by Rockhampton Regional Council at its council-owned heritage museum. It is a good place to find unique gifts and support local businesses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Heritage Village museum displays open during the market?

No. On market days the Village is closed during the day and opens from 4pm for the market only, so the museum displays are closed.

Are there rules for the vintage vehicle rides?

Rides start at 4pm. For safety reasons they only run during daylight hours, so arrive early. Riders must wear enclosed footwear.

Can I bring my dog?

Dogs are not allowed, but service dogs are accepted.

Is the market suitable for wheelchairs and prams?

Access is partial. Most stalls are on grass and gravel, so all-terrain tyres are recommended. Six accessible parking spaces are in the bitumen carpark at the main entry.

How do I apply for a stall?

Stallholder enquiries go to the Heritage Village on 07 4936 8688 or rhv@rrc.qld.gov.au.
