Held three times a year on the grounds and inside the Harmonie German Club in Narrabundah, these quarterly markets bring an authentic slice of European market culture to Canberra. What began as a community gathering for locals seeking imported German deli goods has grown into a lively, family-oriented celebration with stalls spreading across the club grounds, live entertainment in the Zeppelin Room, and the IMBISS German Food Van serving freshly made street food. Inside the Keller you'll find the club's authentic German deli and grocer - perfect for stocking up on imported biers, schnapps, wines, cakes and specialty groceries, with pre-orders available closer to each market date. Beyond the German fare, stallholders bring an eclectic mix of records, clothing, handmade crafts, jams, plants and unique finds, making each event a genuine browse-worthy market day. Entry, parking and the kids' jumping castle are all free, rounding out what is genuinely one of Canberra's most distinctive community market experiences.

When are the 2026 German Markets held?
The 2026 markets are scheduled for 21 June, 13 September and 13 December. Dates are subject to change - follow the club on Facebook or join the mailing list for updates.
Is there a cost to attend?
No - entry and parking are both free for visitors. The kids' jumping castle is also free.
Can I pre-order German deli goods before the market?
Yes. The club's Keller deli and grocer accepts pre-orders for select German groceries and specialty items. Watch the club's socials and email newsletters for when pre-orders open for each market.
How do I book a stall?
Outdoor 3x3m stall spaces are available from $25 (side) to $30 (front) plus booking fee via the stallholder registration on the club website. Stallholders must bring their own tent, table and chairs. Power is not provided. Food stalls are only accepted if selling pre-packaged takeaway items.
What time can stallholders arrive to set up?
Gates open at 7am for stallholders. Even-numbered stallholders load in 7:00am-7:45am; odd-numbered stallholders load in 7:45am-8:30am. Vehicles must be removed from the grounds after unloading.
What if the weather is bad?
The markets run in all weather. Stallholders who need to cancel can request a refund or deferral up to two weeks before the market date - no refunds are given within two weeks of the event.
