About this market

Held on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month, the Gympie Showgrounds Farmers Market brings together local growers, artisans, and food vendors on the grounds of the long-established Gympie Show Society. Run entirely by volunteers, the market has a genuine community spirit - the proceeds directly fund the annual Gympie Show, making every purchase a small contribution to a much-loved regional tradition. Stalls span locally grown fresh produce from some of Queensland's best farmers, high-quality handmade goods, local art, craft and design, plant vendors, and casual bric-a-brac sites perfect for a bit of fossicking. Whether you're after seasonal fruit and veg, a unique handcrafted piece, or just a leisurely Sunday browse, the sealed laneways and spacious showgrounds layout make for easy, relaxed wandering. Free on-site parking is plentiful, and the whole site is smoke-free.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the market held?

The market runs on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month from 6am to 12 noon. Some older visitor guides still say 7am. This is not Southside Markets at the school, not the Duck Pond/Museum markets (1st, 3rd and 5th Sunday at Lake Alford), and not Three Creeks on Saturday.

Does the market run in wet weather?

Yes - it is an all-weather outdoor market and will only cancel if the weather presents a genuine threat to public safety.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs are welcome on site but must be kept on a lead and under control at all times.

Is there parking available?

Yes, there is plenty of free on-site parking at the Gympie Showgrounds. All laneways are sealed for safe and easy pedestrian access.

How do I become a stallholder?

Contact market manager Sid by email at sidso@live.com.au to enquire about vendor opportunities.

Who runs the market?

The market is managed by volunteers from the Gympie Show Society. Proceeds help fund the annual Gympie Show.
