About this market

Bowerbird Design Market is Adelaide's premier destination for discovering the best of Australian handmade design, held twice a year at the Adelaide Showground in Wayville. Now in its 16th year, the market has supported over 1,400 small creative businesses, bringing together a boutique, carefully curated lineup of designers, makers and producers spanning jewellery, homewares, clothing, art, body and health, furniture, and specialty food and drink. Every stall is assessed for quality workmanship, contemporary ideas and brand presentation - so what you find here sits several notches above a typical craft fair. Friday evening sessions offer a buzzy preview atmosphere with live music, food vendors, and first pick of the designer lineup - ideal for a night out with friends. Saturdays and Sundays shift to a more leisurely pace, welcoming families with plenty for kids to discover alongside the shopping. Recurring features include fashion parades, a 30x30cm SA artist art wall (all works affordable and for sale), and a strong food and drink offer - from specialty coffee and fresh juices to Vietnamese street food, gourmet burgers, falafels, and gluten-free vegan brownies. Bowerbird is held indoors at the Ridley Centre or equivalent Adelaide Showground pavilion, making it a comfortable all-weather event. Entry is ticketed ($5 adults, free for children 12 and under), with free entry for Companion Card holders. The venue is wheelchair accessible, all vendors offer card payment facilities, and an ATM is located nearby at Drakes across the road.
