About this market

Held in the carpark of Urrbrae Agricultural High School, the Barn Market is a genuinely one-of-a-kind community market where students grow, produce, and sell the goods on offer. Run by the School Council and a dedicated parent group, the market showcases the school's working farm - think free-range eggs, chickens, lamb sausages, olive oil, olives, school-produced wine, jam, and seasonal plants alongside private stallholders selling a wide variety of goods. It's a welcoming Saturday morning ritual for regulars who come as much for the atmosphere - coffee, muffins, and a BBQ sausage courtesy of the School Council - as for the fresh farm produce. Farm tours run on market mornings, departing from the wine stall between 9:30 am and 11:30 am, making it an easy outing for curious visitors of any age.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a stall?

Use the online stall booking link on the Barn Market page, or email dl.0798.admin@schools.sa.edu.au. Stall fees are $20 (waived for Urrbrae students) and are payable on the day. Each space is approximately 3x3 m (two car park spaces), giving room to park your vehicle and set up tables in front.

When can stallholders enter to set up?

Gate A opens at 7:30 am for Zone A stallholders and Gate B opens at 8:00 am for Zone B stallholders. All stalls should be set up by 8:30 am.

Are farm tours available on market day?

Yes - free farm tours run on every market morning. The first tour departs at 9:30 am and tours run through to 11:30 am, each taking approximately 20 minutes. Sign up at the wine stall on arrival.

Is there an April market?

No - the market does not run in April. It operates on the first Saturday of each month from February to December, with some variation (e.g. two dates in August 2026).

Can I volunteer at the market?

Yes - volunteers are warmly welcomed. The busiest volunteer period is set-up between 7:30 am and 8:30 am (BBQ, produce, coffee, cellar door, tables). Retail support is also needed from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Sign up via the volunteer link on the school website.
