Tarana Community Farmers Market

Nestled in a picturesque valley midway between Bathurst, Lithgow and Oberon, the Tarana Community Farmers Market is one of the Central West's most beloved monthly gatherings. Held on the grounds of the Tarana Rural Fire Service sheds, this community-run market has grown from a modest fundraiser into a thriving event with over 50 regular stallholders, drawing visitors from across the region and beyond. The stall mix is genuinely diverse - farm meats, free-range eggs, seasonal fruit and vegetables, fresh bread, salami, jams and preserves, local wines, mead, truffle vinegar, handmade leather goods, plants, and native saplings all find a home here, alongside an Artist in Residence program that rotates each month. Shady umbrellas and market tents provide a relaxed place to sit, eat, and catch up with neighbours and farmers, while buskers and live music add to the atmosphere. Proceeds support the Tarana Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade and other community projects, giving every purchase a direct local benefit. A narrow, scenic road through sandstone ridges and eucalypt avenues delivers you to the village - making the drive itself part of the experience.
