Scandinavian Crescent & Camp Street, Talbot VIC 3371
Established in 2004, Talbot Farmers' Market is one of the earliest and most enduring farmers' markets in regional Victoria. Held on the third Sunday of every month, it transforms the charming historic precinct of Scandinavian Crescent and Camp Street into a lively street market drawing thousands of visitors to this tiny Goldfields township. The atmosphere is proudly community-based - stallholders line the heritage streetscape offering everything from certified organic produce and artisan cheeses to freshly baked sourdough, local honey, craft ciders, and hot gozleme. Surrounding the market, Talbot and the broader Pyrenees and Goldfields region offer local wineries, gold history, galleries, country pubs, and award-winning eateries - making it well worth a full day out. The market operates a minimal-waste ethos, encouraging biodegradable packaging and providing recycling stations throughout. Named seasonal markets add extra character across the year: Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring, Dogtober (October), and Christmas.

Yes, please. The market encourages stallholders to use biodegradable or recyclable packaging, and recycling bins are positioned throughout the market. Bringing your own reusable bags supports the minimal-waste ethos.
The market welcomes small-scale farmers and artisan food producers who grow or produce local food in Victoria. Download the stallholder application form from the website, complete and sign it, then submit via email. The committee assesses applications against criteria that discourage wasteful plastic and encourage minimal chemical use.
Every dollar raised is reinvested into the market to cover equipment, toilet maintenance, coordinator fees, signage, power connections, insurance, and safety equipment.
