Southbank Makers Market

Stretched along the Southbank Promenade between Evan Walker Bridge and Princes Bridge, Southbank Makers Market brings a curated line-up of Melbourne and Victorian artists and makers to the riverfront. You can browse handmade jewellery, art, ceramics, homewares and one-off gifts, and talk to the people who made them about their stories and inspiration. The market has its roots in the long-running Arts Centre Sunday market on St Kilda Road and moved to the Southgate stretch of the river in early 2025. Since mid-2026 it has been run by a not-for-profit co-operative of the stallholders themselves, with a focus on goods that are home-made, not mass-made. Cafes, restaurants and cultural attractions surround the market, so it is easy to fold into a Sunday on the river.
