Saddleworth Country Market draws visitors from across South Australia to the Clare and Gilbert Valley for one of the state's biggest and most celebrated country market days. Held at the Saddleworth Institute on Burra Road, the market fills both the main hall and supper room with up to 38 indoor stalls, spilling outdoors across the grounds where shade trees make it easy to linger over breakfast or a long morning tea. The stall mix is genuinely diverse - antiques and collectibles sit alongside handcrafted goods from talented local and interstate artists, fresh produce, plants, and a wide spread of food and refreshment options. Running since at least the mid-2000s, it has earned a loyal following as a proper day-out destination rather than a quick browse, and the relaxed country atmosphere is a big part of the appeal. Dogs are welcome on leash and must be supervised at all times - please don't leave them in the car. Indoor stalls are in a confined space, so a mask is appreciated if you're feeling unwell. The market does not run in January.
