River & Wren Market has been the Riverina's favourite handmade gathering since 2014, bringing over 100 carefully curated traders to the halls and grounds of the Wagga Wagga Showground six times a year. The mix is genuinely broad - jewellery, homewares, art, clothing, candles and skincare sit alongside fresh produce, jams, honey, sauces, and a lively food hall where barista coffee, homemade cakes, Dutch pancakes, and street-food vendors keep the energy going well past the stalls. Most of the market is sheltered inside Kyeamba Smith Hall and Hammond Hall, with additional stalls and food vans spilling outside in between - so it runs comfortably in any season. What makes River & Wren stand apart from a typical regional market is the curation: all goods must be handmade, homemade, or homegrown in Australia, and the organiser actively limits duplicate stall types to keep browsing fresh at every edition. A community BBQ and a busker round out each event, giving the whole thing a social, neighbourly feel that draws visitors from well beyond Wagga itself.
