About this market
This small weekly market fills the courtyard of Perth City Farm, a not-for-profit organic community farm in East Perth that helped start Perth's community garden movement more than 30 years ago. Stallholders are selected to fit the farm's ethos: organic, biodynamic and spray-free WA produce, small local growers and producers, locally made artisan goods, and low-packaging products for sustainable living. The farm's own organic stall and nursery sells produce grown metres away. Regulars include biodynamic growers, orchardists, mushroom and seafood sellers, bakers and local beekeepers. It feels more like a slow morning in a garden than a quick shop. You can wander the growing beds, say hello to the chickens and ducks, join a social chess game or a sustainable-living workshop, and finish with organic breakfast from the on-site cafe.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do the market hours change during the year?
Yes. From December to March the market runs earlier, from 7.30am to 11.30am, to avoid the summer heat. From April to November it runs from 8am to 12pm.
Can I check whether a particular stall will be there?
Stallholders and produce change with the seasons, and attendance varies week to week. Contact the farm before visiting if you're coming for a specific stall.
What can I buy besides fresh fruit and veg?
Typical stalls include: - Organic dairy and wild-caught WA seafood - Honey and olive oil - Bulk flours, nuts and grains - Eco cleaning and personal care products - Seedlings and succulents - Gifts, books and plant seeds
What else is there to do on market morning?
You can explore the farm grounds and growing beds and visit the chickens and ducks. There's also social chess with Crob's Coffee and Chess, and occasional workshops on topics such as sourdough, fermenting and organic gardening.
How do I get there by public transport?
The farm is right next to Claisebrook train station, and the Yellow CAT bus stops out the front. You can lock bikes to the front fence.
How do I apply for a stall?
Complete the online stallholder application on the farm's market page. The Markets Manager replies within 5 business days. Businesses are invited if they fit the market's ethos and won't compete too directly with an existing stall.
