How much does entry cost?
$5 per adult, payable at the door (correct change helpful, or Square Pay accepted). Kids enter free, and a seniors discount is available on presentation of a NSW Seniors Card. You can also pre-purchase an MKM Shopper Fast Pass for $5 online, which gets you priority queue entry - and the first 50 Fast Pass holders through the door each receive a free MKM tote bag.
Is there parking at the Newcastle Showground?
Free parking is available at the venue. Additional overflow parking is nearby but note it carries a $2 charge (at the adjacent farmers market lot).
Do stalls accept card payments?
Most preloved stalls are cash only. Some business stalls may offer contactless payment. There is no ATM on site, so bring plenty of cash including small notes and coins.
What happens if it rains?
All MKM Newcastle events are held indoors at the Exhibition Centre, so the market runs regardless of rain. It would only be cancelled or postponed in the event of extreme weather such as flooding.
When is the best time to arrive?
Doors open at 9am - arrive early (or use the Fast Pass priority line) for the widest selection. If you prefer a less crowded experience, come after 10:30am and you may still find last-minute deals.
How does buying large items work?
There is a dedicated Large Items Area displaying cots, prams, highchairs, bikes, and similar items. Each item has a label with price and stall number. Locate the stall, pay there, get a receipt, then return to the Large Items Area staff to collect your purchase. Items cannot leave the area without a stamped receipt.
