Laurimar Lakeside Community Market brings the Doreen community together on the second Sunday of each month at the scenic Laurimar Wetlands, corner of Hazel Glen Drive and Painted Hills Road. With 80-plus stalls spanning local makers, fresh food, artisan goods and more, plus a lively lineup of food trucks and live music, it is a full family day out rather than a quick browse. Kids are well catered for with face painting, a jumping castle and an animal farm on market days, making it one of the more complete community markets in Melbourne's northern growth corridor. The wetlands setting gives the market its name and its atmosphere - open parkland with a lake backdrop and rotundas nearby. For winter months the market has shifted to Laurimar Primary School where most of the market runs undercover, keeping things going through the cooler, wetter months. The organisers cancel when grounds are too wet to handle stallholder vehicles safely.
