About this market

Global Food Markets is one of South East Queensland's most genuinely multicultural markets, born over 20 years ago when the Ethnic Communities Council of Logan Inc partnered with Logan City Council to give the region's migrant farmers a place to sell fresh produce direct to their community. What started with just five Cambodian and Islander growers on Croydon Road has grown into a weekly gathering of over 100 stallholders drawing visitors from Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Ipswich and beyond. The market spans two distinct worlds: a fresh produce street brimming with everyday fruit and veg alongside rare varieties - jackfruit, kundru, cassava and a wide range of Asian vegetables not found at mainstream supermarkets - and a street food strip where vendors cook live dishes from Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Singapore, South Sudan, Congo, Afghanistan, and New Zealand. The surrounding shops - Afghan and Asian groceries, bakeries, butchers - add a neighbourhood bazaar feel that no purpose-built market can replicate. Dogs are welcome in the produce street but not the food street area.
