About this market
Now run by the Howitt Park Bowls Club and settled into its new home beside the recently completed roundabout at McEacharn Street, the Bairnsdale Farmers and Makers Market is a relaxed monthly gathering that draws producers and makers from right across East Gippsland. Pull up for four hours of browsing and you'll find fresh Lindenow vegetables, Picnic Point fruit, Dargo walnuts, Nicholson nuts, goats milk and cheese, locally distilled spirits, gourmet pies, lamb and lamb sausages, smoked meats, venison, pasta, jams, sauces, chutneys, honey, eggs and kombucha - alongside some genuinely beautiful handmade crafts. There's always good coffee on hand, plenty of space to sit and chat, and the kind of unhurried atmosphere that makes a first-Saturday-of-the-month ritual easy to keep.
